DAY 1 • Lisbon
Arrival at Lisbon airport and private transfer to the hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure. Accommodation in Lisbon.
DAY 2 • Lisbon • Obidos • Alcobaça • Nazaré • Batalha • Fátima • 194 km
Breakfast at the hotel. Depart by bus to Obidos, surrounded by medieval walls. Then, visit Alcobaça, home to the first and largest Gothic church in Portugal. A short stop in Nazaré, a typical fishing village and seaside resort. Continue to Batalha to visit the Monastery of Santa Maria de Victoria. Next proceed to Fatima and evening is at leisure. DAY 3 • Fatima • Coimbra • Aveiro • Porto • 223 km
Breakfast at the hotel and depart for Coimbra. You will visit its university, one of the oldest in the world, followed by a stop at St. Clara Church where the tomb of Queen St. Isabel lies. In the city center, you will admire the exclusive ceramics of Coimbra. Free time for lunch. In the afternoon depart for Aveiro, known as the “Venice of Portugal”. Continue to Porto and accommodation at the hotel.
DAY 4 • Porto • Guimarães • Braga • Porto • 138 km
After breakfast, enjoy a morning city tour of Porto, a UNESCO World Heritage site. You will discover the riverside area, the old houses, palaces and churches such as the Palacio da Bolsa and the St. Francisco Church. You will then continue to the Minho region, starting with Guimarães. Visit the Sacred Hill and its castle, as well as the Palace of the Dukes of Bragança. Continue to Braga, which is called the “Portuguese Rome” for its abundance of religious architecture such as the renowned Bom Jesus do Monte pilgrimage sanctuary. Return to Porto and accommodation in Porto.
DAY 5 • Porto
After breakfast, free day to discover the wonders of the city of Porto. Accommodation in Porto.
DAY 6 • Porto • Amarante • Vila Real • Douro Valley • Lamego • Urgeiriça • 232 km
Breakfast at the hotel. Depart to Amarante, a charming town with a bustling market known for the Blessed Gonçalo de Amarante, promoter of love and marriage. Continue to Vila Real and visit the gardens of the Palace of Mateus. You will then travel through the Douro Valley, known for its famous wines, vineyards and breathtaking landscapes. Stop in Lamego, overlooked by one of Portugal’s most important shrines. You will then pass by the mountainous hinterland of Viseu, the center of the Dão vineyards. Accommodation in Urgeiriça.
DAY 7 • Urgeiriça • Bussaco • Tomar • Lisbon • 311 km
Breakfast at the hotel. Depart for Bussaco, well known for its luxuriant forest, home to rare trees and plants of exotic beauty. Continue to Tomar, a city whose development is closely interlinked with the Order of the Templars and visit the Convent of Christ, the centerpiece of the city. Depart for Lisbon and accommodation in Lisbon.
DAY 8 • Lisbon • Sintra • Cabo da Roca • Cascais • Estoril • Lisbon • 94 km
Breakfast at the hotel. Depart to Sintra for a visit of the Pena Palace. Then, you will enjoy an amazing view from the westernmost point of mainland Europe (Cabo da Roca). Along the coast, you will pass by one of the most famous surfing beaches, the incredible Boca do Inferno (Hell’s mouth), the cosmopolitan Cascais and the Estoril Casino gardens. Return to Lisbon and accommodation at the hotel.

After breakfast, depart to discover the town of Evora, a mosaic of culture, history and traditions and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You will visit some of its most important monuments: the Roman Temple, the Romanesque-Gothic cathedral, St. Francis Church, the Chapel of Bones and the University. Lunch and afternoon are at leisure. Part of the morning is free, then depart southward via Beja, known for its medieval castle overlooking the region, then proceeding to Silves, with its fields of orange trees and red sandstone castle. Continue to Lagos, along the golden sand beaches of the Algarve passing by Praia da Rocha. Accommodation in Lagos.

Breakfast at the hotel. You will spend the day visiting the Algarve. Short stop in Ponta da Piedade to see the magnificent view of the Atlantic Ocean and its erosive rocks and cliffs.
