DAY 1 • Rome • Sorrento • 265 km
Early morning departure from Rome to Sorrento heading south through the lush Roman countryside. The rest of the day is at leisure to explore Sorrento or visit the picturesque towns of Positano, Ravello or Amalfi. Supper and accommodation in Sorrento.
DAY 2 • Sorrento • Capri* • Sorrento • 40 km
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the port, then depart by ferry to Capri. Upon arrival at Marina Grande, you will visit the Blue Grotto (weather and capacity permitting. Guide will suggest alternative excursions). Continue to the Gardens of Augustus, a beautifully landscaped terrace offering panoramic views of the iconic Faraglioni rock formations and the Marina Piccola Bay. After lunch (not included), enjoy some free time to explore Capri at your leisure. Return to the port to take the ferry and transfer to your hotel in Sorrento. Supper and accommodation in Sorrento.
*From November 01 – March 31, the itinerary will be as follows: Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. Afterward, you’ll have free time for shopping or optional activities. Supper and accommodation in Sorrento.
DAY 3 • Sorrento • Pompeii • Rome 275 km
After breakfast, you’ll have some free time to soak in Sorrento’s charm one last time. In the afternoon, depart to Pompeii. After your arrival, enjoy a guided walking tour to the archaeological site of Pompeii, a city both destroyed and preserved by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. After your visit, you will depart for your journey back to Rome.
N.B. For technical reasons, the order of the excursions could be reversed.
